The Sicilian Defense is one of the most widely used chess openings all over the world. The reason why this move is widely preferred is because it provides a gateway for more than two pieces to come into the attack straight away. This results in the weakening of the opponent right from the start.
1.e4 c5
This is the initial move in the Sicilian Defense which is common and lets both teams gear up for a good game all over.
2.Nf3 d6
The White horse comes into the picture and the game is on the verge of getting intensive now.
3.d4 cxd4
Black attacks the White center and starts the hunt in the game.
4.Qxd4 Nc6
White brings his queen into attack and Black defends well bringing his horse into the attack with tempo.
5.Bb5 Bd7
What better way can White defend his queen than by pinning the horse and developing a piece with the same move.
6.Bxc6 Bxc6
Black defends well and good and makes a daring move and White gives up his bishop in exchange for the Black horse.
7.Nc3 Nf6
White and Black are now fighting for the advantage.
8.Bg5 e6
White now pins the other Black horse and makes the game more interesting. This attack keeps the hearts of viewers beating in nervously.
9.O-O-O Be7
White gives his king security by castling and Black prepares to do the same.
10.Rhe1 O-O
Both sides have now completed development.
11.Kb1 Qc7
